T Minus 4 days

Alas - tis but a short 4 days before the Livio Shuttle launches and Livio vanishes into the deserts of Arizona to be stung by scorpions, stabbed by cacti, and possibly be abducted by aliens. We should all stand for the next 4 days in a constant salute to wish him adieu.

I'd write more, but I've been writing nonstop this month and I'm just friggin beat.

Continuation of the infrequent update series

Man, I'm beat. I'm spending 12 hours a week in my car now. Tim O' Brien's reading at UTC tomorrow and I really want to go, but I just don't think I have the energy. I drove to Chattanooga on Tuesday for the department meeting, to teach today, and I have to teach on Friday. Honestly, I just don't think I have it in me to make the drive four days in a row. I had monday off, but that just meant I had the drive from Nashville on Tuesday instead of Monday, that drive is a good bit longer than the driver from Knoxville to Chatt, so I didn't have Tuesday to recover like I normally would. On the other hand, teaching at UTC is pretty sweet. I really like their department and I'm getting a lot of writing done - my office totally rocks for writing. I can close my office door (when my office hours are over), and it is practically totally impossible for anything to interrupt me.

Something kind of creepy though - the fellow I've gotten to know the most in the department, one of the other lectures - okay, get this:

1) His name is Mike.
2) He wears little glasses and has a goattee.
3) He reads Barthelme, Saunders, Bender
4) He writes off-beat fiction with zany themes inspired by the above authors
5) And now Tim O'Brien is on the campus.

I believe that Michael has teleported his mental activity to UTC and inhabited the body of one of the lecturers. It is the only explanation. I'm not sure of the moral implications of this situation.

That is all for now. Must sleep.

Check back soon to see that this post is still the most recent post. Check back a little later than soon but not quite a long time to see that this post is still the most recent post. Check back when you've given up on the posting of a new post, then, my friends, then, and only then, will you find a new post. Unless I've feeling ambitious and post something new tomorrow.
